Key Responsibilities
The Social Worker will report to the Area Social Work Supervisor, with close coordination with the Area Relief & Social Services Officer, and under the overall technical guidance of the Field Social Services Officer. Responsibilities include:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments for individuals and families in need of social intervention, developing individualized care plans using a strengths-based approach.
- Provide psychosocial support and counseling based on intervention plans at household or facility level.
- Identify referral needs to other UNRWA services or external agencies, facilitate referrals, and follow up to ensure appropriate care.
- Maintain accurate case documentation in line with social work principles and agency databases.
- Facilitate community-based initiatives targeting vulnerable groups (women, children, youth, elderly, persons with disabilities).
- Build partnerships with stakeholders to increase refugee access to quality external services.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education
University degree in social work, sociology, psychology, guidance and counseling, or a related discipline.
Work Experience
Minimum three years' experience providing social work, psychosocial support, or counseling in developmental/humanitarian programs with governmental or non-governmental organizations.
Languages
Fluency in both spoken and written English and Arabic is essential.
